Oahu's Luxury Home Sales Climb Nearly 40 Percent During October 2014

HONOLULU – Luxury homes and condominiums sales on Oahu were 39 percent higher during October 2014 compared to the same period in 2013, according to Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties (CBP), Hawaii’s leading residential real estate firm and a specialist in high-end real estate sales.

The figures are based on Multiple Listing Service (MLS) data of all single-family homes and condominiums sold for more than $1 million during October 2014 on Oahu.

A total of 79 luxury homes changed hands in October, up from 57 in October 2013. The median sales price for the luxury range also jumped up to $1,400,000 last month compared to $1,325,000 in 2013.

Volta now operates more than 80 charging stations nationwide, in Hawaii, California and Arizona.

 

“Hawaii EV drivers have embraced the renewable technology electric cars offer, demonstrating the public’s need for EV charging stations,” said Arden Penton, Volta Director of Media and Operations.  “Thanks to our sponsors, EV drivers have saved the equivalent of $240,000 in gasoline charges, offsetting 1.7 million pounds of carbon dioxide in Hawaii alone.  We are proud to make a substantial environmental impact.”

This is the second project that DEP has completed for AIPA Properties’ site and together the two projects total just under 1 MW.

Lance Wilhelm To Join Irongate As Managing Principal

Will represent developer in Hawaii

HONOLULU – Irongate, the developer of Trump International Hotel & Tower at Waikiki Beach Walk and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, announced today that Lance Wilhelm will soon be joining its team as Managing Principal to oversee current and future development projects in Hawaii and to represent Irongate in the state.

Wilhelm is currently Senior Vice President for Hawaii Operations at Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. and the chairman of the Kamehameha Schools Board of Trustees. He is expected to leave Kiewit later this month and start work at Irongate shortly after. His position on the Kamehameha Schools Board of Trustees will not be affected.

First Insurance Company Of Hawaii Upgraded To A+ Rating By Standard & Poor’s

HONOLULU – Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services (S&P) today raised its long-term counterparty credit and financial strength ratings for First Insurance Company of Hawaii (FICOH) to A+ from A-. FICOH is now the only Hawaii-based carrier with an S&P rating of A+.

FICOH, which has been operating in Hawaii since 1911, also holds an A+ rating from A.M. Best Co. and has been on the Ward’s 50 group of top-performing property and casualty (P&C) insurance companies in the United States for six consecutive years.
