Serious job seekers can discover serious opportunities at the Hawaii Career Expo

HONOLULU – The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, with monster.com and Alternate Energy, will host the Hawaii Career Expo to provide “serious opportunities for serious job seekers.”

The Career Expo will take place on Wednesday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall (777 Ward Avenue). The event is free for the first 1,000 who pre-register online at HawaiiCareerExpo.com and who are dressed in business attire. There will also be a drawing at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser booth for a free trip for two to Las Vegas, sponsored by Vacations Hawaii.

CBP Agent Anne Oliver Receives NRT's Prestigious Society of Excellence Award

HONOLULU – Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties (CBP) is pleased to announce that Anne Oliver (R) of the firm’s Kahala office was recently bestowed NRT’s prestigious Society of Excellence award in recognition of her sales success achieved in 2013.  Oliver is the only Coldwell Banker agent in Hawaii and one of just 55 individuals, or less than two percent of all NRT Coldwell Banker sales associates/representatives, in the United States to receive this honor.

This is only the second time since 2006 that a CBP agent has earned this national award. The Society of Excellence designation was created by NRT to acknowledge a superior subset of NRT agents that surpass the levels set by Coldwell Banker.  NRT is the nation’s largest residential real estate brokerage company and Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties’ parent company.

HONOLULU  – Servco Pacific Inc. (Servco) today announced it has hired Mary-Jean Shiroma as Benefits Consultant. In this role, Shiroma will service existing Servco Insurance accounts and develop new business. She will work closely with clients to guide them through emerging trends in employee benefits, the annual renewal process and recommend additional options that complement or enhance their current benefit offerings.

Shiroma joins Servco after two decades in the insurance industry, working with many different employer clients focusing on medical, life, disability, and wellness programs.  Most recently she worked as an account relationship consultant with HMSA.

H&M to open first Hawaii store

H & M, Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), will open its first location in the state of Hawaii on March 27 at noon. The flagship store, located in the Waikiki Business Plaza, will feature 31,000 square feet of fashion!

“We are truly excited to open our first location in the islands at this iconic shopping location in Waikiki,” said Daniel Kulle, U.S. President for H&M. “People from across the globe travel to Hawaii to experience its very special culture and an environment that is unlike any other in the US or in the world. Our new flagship location will be a great addition to the luxury retail mix on Kalakaua Avenue, giving residents and tourists alike great choices in fashion with great value.”

Opening new stores across the country allows H&M to support local economies where they operate stores. 160 local employees have been hired for the new location, including 20 people that will return from the mainland home to Hawaii.

HONOLULU –  Marsha Nadalin Salon + Spa celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year at Kahala Mall, joining dozens of other long-running merchants at Oahu’s family-friendly mall in East Oahu, including Kahala Barber, Longs Drugs and Macy’s (and its department store predecessors), all located at Kahala Mall for more than 50 years.

“We’re thrilled to have such great merchants who call Kahala Mall home, and celebrate with them in these significant milestones, such as Marsha Nadalin’s 20th anniversary,” said Floyd Williamson, Kahala Mall General Manager.  “In fact, 25 of our merchants have been in the mall for two decades or more.
