News

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- Three Honolulu police officers suffered minor injuries on Friday when a car
that had been reported stolen crashed in Aina Haina, causing major traffic
delays in the area for most of the afternoon.

The officers were reportedly following the vehicle at the time of the
incident, and the westbound lanes of Kalanianaole Highway were closed while
police officials investigated.

Police say the driver of the car, 42-year-old Dennis Kala, was arrested on
suspicion of operating a stolen vehicle. His passengers, 29-year-old Seleena
Kumia and 32-year-old Alcapone Stanley, were also arrested, and charged with
unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle.

Traffic was heavy heading both into and out of Hawaii Kai for several hours
following the accident.
